Roy Evans is a Fine Arts graduate and has a Master’s degree. His long and varied career in teaching includes working in primary and secondary schools, adult education and on degree courses. He was principal lecturer at Leeds Metropolitan University where he trained Art and Design teachers. Roy has exhibited his work all over the country including Nottingham, Leeds, Wimbledon and Devon. He has recently exhibited in Devon and Newcastle and holds and annual open studio week.

As an artist he has moved easily between landscape and portrait painting, sculpture and stained glass design. Since arriving in North Devon twelve years ago, the rich variety of landscape has been his main preoccupation.

His studio looks towards the sea and Lundy island, and is close to extensive moorland, deep wooded valleys such as Clovelly and Bucks Mills, and the rugged coast and coves of North Devon.
